Booking system for retreat centres

A booking page for your retreats, with deposits and payment plans built in

Macadamia gives you a booking page where guests can book multi-day retreats, day retreats, regular classes and 1:1 sessions. Guests pay by card through Stripe into your own account. For each retreat, you decide whether they pay in full, spread the cost over instalments, or pay a deposit now and the balance later.

Free to start. No card needed until you choose a paid plan.

Retreats, classes and sessions

Each retreat, class and session is set up in its own way

The events list in the dashboard, showing a five-day retreat, a day retreat and a weekly class, each with its bookings so far.

A retreat runs over several days and has its own price and number of places. A day retreat is a single date with its own price and places. Regular classes repeat each week, each with its own venue. 1:1 sessions are appointments for one guest, booked from the hours you set, and each type of session can have its own length, price and location.

  • Multi-day retreats
  • Day retreats on a single date
  • Weekly classes
  • 1:1 sessions booked as appointments

Deposits and payment plans

Take a deposit at booking and the balance later

A booking form for a retreat with shared and private room prices, a dietary question and a pay button.

For each retreat, you can take a deposit when a guest books, and the guest pays the balance later from their own login, with an email reminder before it's due. You can also spread the cost over instalments. In that case the guest's card is saved at booking, and the later payments are taken automatically every month or week, as you choose. Ticket types let you charge different prices for the same retreat, for example a place in a shared room and a place in a private room.

  • A deposit at booking
  • The balance paid from the guest's login
  • Instalments at regular intervals
  • Different prices for shared and private rooms

Booking a retreat

A booking page guests can use on their phone

A booking page: the next few dates as cards, then this week as a list, with one booked and one full.

Your booking page has its own web address, so you can share the link or link to it from the website you already have. It shows your upcoming retreats and classes with the dates, price and places left for each. Guests book without an app or a password, and they answer any questions you add, such as dietary needs. If you're asking about health too, the questions can be sent as a questionnaire after booking instead, with the answers kept out of notification emails. When a retreat is full, guests can join the waitlist, and if a place comes up, the first in line is emailed and has it held for them.

  • Places left on each retreat
  • Your own booking questions
  • Health questionnaires after booking
  • A waitlist when a retreat is full

Plans and prices

Core costs £15 a month and Team costs £25

Free has all the main booking features, so it's a good place to start. On a paid plan, you don't pay commission on your bookings, and your booking page sits on your own domain without the Macadamia credit. Team also lets other retreat leaders or practitioners run their own 1:1 sessions, each with their own hours.

  • Free

    £0 a month

4% of online payments, and a small Macadamia credit on your page.

  • Core

    £15 a month

No commission, your own domain and no credit. For one practitioner.

  • Team

    £25 a month

Everything in Core, for several practitioners.

At around £375 a month in online bookings, Core costs less than Free. Paid plans start with a 30-day trial, and there's no charge until you go live, or 30 days, whichever comes first. Stripe's own card fees apply on every plan.

Questions

The main FAQ covers payments, your data and your domain in more detail.

Can I charge different prices for shared and private rooms?

Yes. Shared and private rooms can be set up as ticket types with their own prices, and each can have its own limit, so you only sell as many private rooms as you have.

Can two friends or a couple book a retreat together?

Yes. One booking can include several places, with a name for each guest.

Can guests book a 1:1 session during a retreat?

Yes. 1:1 sessions are booked from the hours you set, so if you make hours available on the retreat dates, guests can book a session from the same booking page.

Who can see what guests tell me about their health?

With sensitive client records turned on, you can send a health questionnaire after booking, and the answers are kept out of notification emails, webhooks and logs. Your notes on each guest are encrypted too, and only readable by you, your admins and the practitioners who see that guest.
