Booking system for music teachers and schools

A booking page for your music lessons, from each pupil's weekly slot to the end-of-term concert

Macadamia gives you a booking page where pupils and parents can book one-to-one lessons, group classes, ensembles and whole terms, and buy tickets for your concerts and recitals. You can keep each pupil's regular weekly slot and write notes on every lesson. For each lesson type or class, you choose whether it's paid in full, with a lesson pack, in instalments or on the day.

Free to start. No card needed until you choose a paid plan.

A violin scroll, a recorder and a few notes of music rising out of an opening macadamia shell, in olive and cream.

Lessons and lesson packs

Set up each kind of lesson with its own length and price

The list of what you run in the dashboard: two lesson types, a group class and a term, each with its bookings so far.

One-to-one lessons are appointments, booked from the hours you set. Each lesson type has its own length, price and location, so a 30-minute lesson and an hour-long one can sit side by side, and you can reserve a few minutes before and after each one. You can hold a pupil's regular weekly slot so it's kept for them each week. Lesson packs let a pupil pay for a set number of lessons up front and book against them, and for online lessons your own meeting link goes in the confirmation email.

  • Lessons of any length
  • A pupil's regular weekly slot
  • Lesson packs, paid up front
  • Online lessons with your own link

Lesson notes

Keep notes on every lesson, alongside the pupil's record

A lesson record with prep, lesson and follow-up notes, and the pupil's answers from when they booked.

Each lesson has space for prep, lesson and follow-up notes, next to anything the pupil or parent answered when they booked. Ongoing notes, such as the pieces a pupil is learning or the exam they're working towards, sit on their record with their bookings, attendance, packs and payments. Notes can't be edited or deleted, so a correction is added as a new note and the original stays visible. Notes are for you and your teachers, and pupils don't see them.

  • Prep, lesson and follow-up notes
  • Ongoing notes for each pupil
  • Booking answers beside your notes
  • Corrections that keep the original

Groups, terms and concerts

Group classes, terms and concert tickets on the same page

A booking page with the next few dates as cards, then this week's group classes and a concert as a list, with one booked and one full.

Group classes and ensembles repeat each week, with their own price, number of places and venue. A term is a set of dates that's booked and paid for together, and when it ends you can run it again with new dates. Concerts and recitals are set up as performances with tickets, and ticket types let you charge different prices, for example adult, child and concession. A parent can book several places or tickets in one booking, with a name for each person.

  • Weekly group classes and ensembles
  • Terms, booked and paid together
  • Adult, child and concession tickets
  • A waitlist when a group is full

Questions

The main FAQ covers payments, your data and your domain in more detail.

Can I teach at home on some days and at a school on others?

Yes. Each lesson type has its own location, so you'd have a lesson type for each place you teach, with the hours you're there.

Can a parent book lessons for more than one child?

Yes, though each one-to-one lesson is for one pupil, so a parent books a lesson for each child. For group classes, ensembles and concerts, a parent can book several places in one booking.

Can family and friends buy concert tickets?

Yes. Anyone with the link to your booking page can buy tickets, and they don't need an account or a password to do it.

Can I ask which instrument and grade a pupil is at when they book?

Yes. Your own questions are answered as part of each booking, and the answers appear on the pupil's lessons next to your notes.
