Macadamia gives your salon, spa or treatment room a booking page where clients choose a treatment and book a time from the hours you set, and sign up for your skincare or makeup workshops. Payments go through Stripe into your own account, and for each treatment you decide whether clients pay in full, leave a deposit or pay on the day.

Each treatment has its own length and price
Every treatment on your menu is an appointment type with its own length, price and location, and clients book it from the hours you've set. You can reserve time before and after each treatment for setting up and clearing down. If a client comes in at the same time each week, you can hold that slot for them. Skincare and makeup workshops are set up separately, each with its own date, price and number of places. On the Team plan, each therapist has their own hours and treatments, and clients can choose who they'd like to see or take whoever's available.

Deposits and paying
Take a deposit when a client books
For each treatment you choose how clients pay, whether that's the full price when they book, a deposit with the balance paid later, or everything on the day. A client who has paid a deposit can pay the rest from their own login. Packages let a client pay for a set number of treatments up front and book against them, and a treatment cancelled within your rules goes back on the package. Card payments go through Stripe into your own account.

Your booking page
A booking page that's easy to use on a phone
Your booking page has its own web address, so you can share the link or add it to a website you already have. Clients choose a treatment and a time without needing an app or a password. You can add your own questions, for example whether they've had a patch test, and the answers are kept with the appointment. Confirmations and reminders go out automatically, and clients can move their own appointment from their login, up to a deadline you set.

Paying
Deposits and payment options
You choose how clients pay for each treatment and workshop. Card payments go through Stripe into your own account.
Refunds can go back to the client's card or be kept as credit for a later booking.

The main booking features are on every plan, so Free is a good place to start. On a paid plan there's no commission on your bookings, your booking page can sit on your own domain without the Macadamia credit, and Team lets several therapists take bookings with their own hours and treatments.

At around £375 a month in online bookings, Core costs less than Free. Paid plans start with a 30-day trial, and there's no charge until you go live, or 30 days, whichever comes first. Stripe's own card fees apply on every plan.

Can I ask whether a client has had a patch test?
Yes. Your own questions are answered as part of each booking, and the answers are kept with the appointment for you to check before they come in.
Can clients join a waiting list for a full skincare workshop?
Yes. When a place comes free, the first person on the waitlist is emailed and can book it themselves, with the place held for them for 24 hours by default.
Can clients see the notes I keep about them?
No. Clients see their upcoming bookings, packages and booking history in their login, but not your notes.
Can I offer treatments in two different locations?
Yes. A treatment you offer in both places is set up as a separate treatment type for each location, so your hours can differ between them.
