Booking system for baby and toddler classes

A booking page for your baby and toddler classes, from the free trial to the end of term

Macadamia gives you a booking page where parents can book a whole term, a single drop-in class or a free trial, and book places for brothers and sisters together. Payments go through Stripe into your own account. For each term or class, you choose whether parents pay in full, in instalments or on the day.

Free to start. No card needed until you choose a paid plan.

Soft stacking rings, a rattle, a tambourine, a small wooden duck and plain building blocks tumbling out of an opening macadamia shell.

Terms, drop-ins and trials

Set up termly blocks and drop-in classes side by side

The events list in the dashboard: a term, a weekly drop-in class and a free trial, each with its bookings so far.

A term is a set of dates that parents book and pay for together, and when it finishes you can run it again with new dates. Weekly classes repeat on their own, so parents can drop in to a single session, and each class has its own price, number of places and venue. Classes for different age groups are set up separately, each with its own times and places. A ticket type priced at £0 lets new families book a free trial, and you can limit how many trial places each class has.

  • Termly blocks, booked and paid together
  • Drop-in classes
  • A class for each age group
  • A set number of free trial places

The booking page

Parents book from their phone, with no app or password

A booking page: the next few dates as cards, then this week as a list, with one class booked and one full.

Your booking page has its own web address, which you can share as a link or add to a website you already have. It shows the next few dates, then this week by day, with the time, price and places left for each class. A parent can book several places in one booking, for twins or siblings, and answer the questions you add, such as each child's name and age. When a class is full, parents can join the waitlist, and if a place comes up, the first in line is emailed and has it held for them, for 24 hours by default.

  • Places left, updated as people book
  • Twins and siblings in one booking
  • Your own questions, like a child's age
  • A waitlist when a class is full

Paying for a term

Parents can spread the cost of a term

A booking form for a term with its ticket types, a question about each child's age and a pay button.

For each term you choose how parents pay, whether that's in full when they book, in instalments, or a deposit with the balance later. With instalments, the card is saved at booking and the later payments are taken automatically every month or week, as you choose. Drop-in classes can be paid by card when they're booked or on the day. Card payments go through Stripe into your own account.

  • In full or in instalments
  • A deposit, then the balance
  • Cash on the day
  • Paid into your own Stripe account

Plans and prices

Core costs £15 a month and Team costs £25

The main booking features are on every plan, so Free is a good place to start. On a paid plan you don't pay commission on your bookings, your booking page can sit on your own domain without the Macadamia credit, and on Team other teachers can work alongside you.

  • Free

    £0 a month

4% of online payments, and a small Macadamia credit on your page.

  • Core

    £15 a month

No commission, your own domain and no credit. For one teacher.

  • Team

    £25 a month

Everything in Core, for several teachers.

At around £375 a month in online bookings, Core costs less than Free. Paid plans start with a 30-day trial, and there's no charge until you go live, or 30 days, whichever comes first. Stripe's own card fees apply on every plan.

Questions

The main FAQ covers payments, your data and your domain in more detail.

Can I charge less for a second child?

Yes. A class can have more than one ticket type, so a sibling place can be priced below the first, and a parent can book both in the same booking.

Can I ask about allergies before the first class?

Yes. If you're asking about health, such as allergies, a class's questions can be sent as a questionnaire after booking instead of during it, with the answers kept out of notification emails. Sensitive client records need to be turned on in your privacy settings first.

Can a family book the term after their free trial?

Yes. The term is on the same booking page, so after the trial they can book it there and pay in whichever ways you've offered for that term.

Can I run a one-off holiday session as well as my terms?

Yes. A one-off session has its own date, price and number of places, and parents book it from the same booking page.
